Through Alexandra’s leadership of the ASLA St. Louis Chapter, and in partnership with the WashU Sam Fox School, East Loop CID, and other local organizations, we have led the planning and installation of Park(ing) Day on the Delmar Loop — an annual event that invites participants to reimagine street parking spaces as community space while drawing attention to nearby businesses. In 2023, the Park(ing) Day team painted stencils of Missouri native flowers across three parking spaces, a design intended to outlast the event itself and spark ongoing conversation among visitors and neighboring businesses about how streets can be used differently.
